 White Belt Fourth Stripe

Science of Jiu Jitsu Team Blue Belt Requirements Program

For being awarded your fourth stripe in the white belt you should have attended 25 classes after receiving your third stripe.

You should also be able to demonstrate while sparring that you are trying to apply this knowledge.
 
This is evaluated in the regular class positional sparring and in specific sessions.
 

 Self defense basic movements and techniques (Top and Bottom Game)

 

On Top :

  • Punch defense.
  • Clinch, takedown and transition to mount.
  • Low mount control.
  • Pushes defense.
  • Mount control variations (Gift Wrap Grip and Kimura Grip).
  • Moving aggressor keeping the mount control.
  • Backpack and back smash if aggressor turns belly down.
  • Transition from mount to the back.
  • Rear Naked Choke Defense.
  • Front, low and high Kicks defense.
  • Standing Guillotine Defense.
  • Standing Headlock Escape.
  • Distance control and grappling  in unavoidable armed agressions (short, long and firearms). Mindset, estrategies and live sparring.

Bottom game:

  • Backward break fall and going to technical lift.
  • Distance control while sitting on the floor in ready for technical lift position.
  • Side to side movement in ready to technical lift position accompanying opponents movement.
  • Technical lift.
  • Mount escape.
  • Guard work to technical lift.
  • Headlock Escape in the ground.


Positional Escapes

Side Control Escapes.

  • To fours for take down or taking the back.
  • To guard recovery.
  • Rollout.

Knee on the Belly Escapes.

  • Basic to single leg.
  • To Half Guard.

Mount Escapes.

  • Basic Elbow knee Escape.
  • Elbow knee (top ankle trap).
  • Elbow knee (beneath the ankle trap).
  • Basic Upa Escape.
  • Upa Escape (with sleeve control).

Turtle.

  • Recovery to the Sit Guard
  • Recovery to Closed Guard

Back Escapes.

  • Early escape (without seat belt control)
  • Going to the Closed Guard
  • Going to turtle
  • With lapel grip but we can choose to go the “good side”
  • In extremis (when opponent has the lapel and put us to the worst side)


North South Escapes (to the Back or to Half Guard)

  • Going to the Back
  • Going to Half Guard

Standing Game.

  • Grips
  • Correct Posture (head up, straight back, leg alignment).
  • Side to Side and front and backward movement without crossing the legs.
  • Unbalancing movements (shaking and side to side).
  • Single Leg Takedown.
  • Double Leg Takedown
  • Ankle Pick Takedown
  • Collar Drag Takedown
