Brown Belt Requirements
Brown Belt Requirements.
Science of Jiu Jitsu Team Graduation Requirements Program
developed by professor Mario Rodríguez.
For being awarded the brown belt, the purple belt should have worked in the following directions and aspects:
1. Consolidating his combinations in the fundamantal areas of brazilian jiu jitsu:
- Takedowns
- Guard Passes
- Guard Work
- Submissions
2. Consolidating positional escapes and submissions
3. Consolidating his ability to restart his game from defensive positions connecting defensive and offensive cycles.
Remember that positional and situational sparring in classes and graduation day will be the most valuable tool to evaluate the results of your continuous work in the areas you are trying to improve and that the "personal time" at the begining of the class is the most valuable time to work with focus and discipline in the problems and specialization you need in the blue belt to get to the brown belt.
